About Simon
I was formerly a professional mountain bike athlete, and fell in love with woodworking in 2016, quickly diving head first into learning the craft. Without attending full time schooling, I was lucky to learn some of the valuable curriculum, taught by the James Krenov school of Fine Woodworking, due to a prior Krenov student and instrutor Pattrick Stafford’s local community college classes.
Now with a sizable shop located in the foothills of Watsonville, CA I’m focused on on milling salvaged logs and materials, and practicing sustainable furniture making in the hopes to add a meaningful story to each heirloom quality piece of furniture that leaves the shop.
At the footer of the website you’ll notice the logos of Urban Wood Network, 1% for the Planet, and One Tree Planted. I’m committed to contributing to a sustainable future for our planet, by having one new tree planted for every sale, as well as 1% of revenue back to a good cause. Being a member of the Urban Wood Network allows connection between trees and their journey to becoming finished products, and connected all the people along the way.
